This Friday closes a chapter that I didn't think I would ever end. I grew up in a home where both parents worked, and never thought my life would be much different from that. When we found out about the twins in December, one of the first things we realized was the fact that having 2 infants in daycare and a 3 year-old in daycare and preschool would nearly wipe out the income I bring home. I have mentioned my excitement about being a SAHM in previous posts, so I won't go into that here. I just wanted to celebrate the fact that I have already survived my last Monday morning as a working (away from home) mom!
I told Aaron on Saturday that I needed him to understand how grateful I am that he is in a position to support us. The challenge ahead of him is a little daunting - I have been the main breadwinner for the majority of our marriage and I know the amount of stress that comes with that.
We also have been fortunate enough to come into a little bit of money, thanks to Aaron's great aunt and uncle who never had children. They were kind enough to think of all their nieces and nephews when they set up their estate 20+ years ago. While the inheritance we are receiving will not make us wealthy, it will take care of our debts and allow us to have plenty of breathing room in our budget to save for a home (hopefully the home purchase will be made by next summer). The timing of this has been amazing, I just can't believe it! Thank you Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Elton!!!!!!

You will love being a SAHM! What a wonderful thing for your aunt/uncle to do for you guys. How sweet of them.
I'm so extremely happy for you. How nice that you have some extra money so that you won't have to stress about debt. Makes a huge difference.
Wow, Tandy - you're facing a lot of change! Congrats on the twins and on the chance to be a SAHM!
