Prayers for Collin

I've known a group of women for nearly 7 years. I've only met three of them, but I believe there are about 70 in our group. We all went through our pregnancies together at the same time with our "Auggies." They've been a great source of friendship, advice, encouragement and support over the years. We started out as an expecting club on iVillage and moved to our own private message board several years ago. We've watched our kids grow from the first ultrasound images, through the developmental milestones, to the first day of Kindergarten and now First grade for many of them.

Last fall one of the kids was diagnosed with Neuromyelitis Optica. There are no words to describe the suffering he has gone through. His parents were recently told that he is terminal and they don't know how long he has left. I cannot imagine the heartache and pain and sorrow that they must be experiencing. I have never met Collin or his mom, but I have cried for them and with them.

This has all reminded me to enjoy my job as a mom. To get through the "bad days" with more patience, more laughter, more love. Please keep Collin and his family in your prayers. I know they will be felt. If you would like to read more about Collin and his story, you can visit his website.
