I took Maddie out for a couple hours yesterday. We went to get a leotard with a skirt attached. That is why she wanted to take dance, afterall, so that she could have a ballerina dress. I also took her to lunch. She picked Panda Express, specifically the orange chicken and fried rice plate. She knew this was what she was going to have before we left the house. Aaron wasn't feeling well and had spent most of the morning in bed trying to get rid of a horrible cold that's hanging out in our house.
We ordered lunch and she asked for rootbeer. When I got to the table with our drinks, we had the following conversation.
Maddie: "What did you get to drink?"
Me: "Diet Coke"
Maddie: "I can't have Coke."
Me: "No, do you know why you can't have Coke?"
Maddie: "No."
I went on to explain how Coke has caffeine in it and it makes little girls act crazy (and we don't need more crazy around here!). I told her adults like to drink it because it helps us wake up. I justified my Coke habits by telling her that I drink it to help me have energy to play all day.
Me: "Would I be a fun mom if I just stayed in bed all day?"
Maddie: "No!"
It was quiet for a minute and she said "Daddy should drink Coke."
Touché!

I love it! That is too funny! I let my kids get coke now that they are older, in fact we had pizza with a nieghbor the other night and my nieghbor asked Avery (7) what he wanted to drink and he said "do you have any diet coke" lol..I dont let them drink it late at night though! I keep caffiene free on hand though so they drink that most of the time.
bwaaaaahaaaaahaaaa! that girl is a riot, tandy!
